A Trip to Detroit for NAIAS 2014

It’s a good thing I put winter tires on my Juke. Every year, my dad and I go to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. So this past weekend I drove back to my hometown just north of Detroit. And as you’ve surely heard by now, the roads are a mess in the Midwest lately. But luckily I made it there and back in one piece, so I get to share a little of what I saw with you.

I got to sit in the back of a Tesla Model S, saw the latest Nissan concept cars which I love just as much as last year’s, and even got up close and personal with Michelin’s new Premier tire that — even when worn — stops shorter on wet roads than leading competitors’ brand new tires.

A picture is worth a thousand words and takes a lot less time to enjoy, so here’s a few shots of what caught my eye:

I gotta tell ya, this is the second year in a row that Nissan’s concepts were my favorite part of the whole show (last year it was the Nissan Resonance concept that grabbed my attention). I swear I’m not just a Nissan fanboy cuz I drive a Juke. These cars just look so awesome. I want to own one of those IDx models. I just can’t decide which one I like better!

I’m really smitten with the Freeflow, and Popular Mechanics reports that Nissan does intend to produce at least one of them. So I’ve got my fingers crossed. What do you think about it?
