I have a thing for Goodyear, from it being an Ohio company to the fact that I got to ride the Goodyear blimp. I even like their ads, and it’s not always easy to make tires exciting (I mean RightTurn is good at it, but not everyone is).
What really blows my mind is that Goodyear has been around since 1898! More than a century of experience—it’s no wonder they make such excellent tires. Sure, it was bicycle and carriage tires at the start (in addition rubber poker chips and other odd doohickies), but Goodyear has been involved in racing since 1901.
From its humble beginning in an abandoned strawboard factory (full disclosure: the first several times I read that I thought it was strawberry factory, and it took me a while to finally question just how one would go about manufacturing a strawberry… blonde moment of the day) to being the largest tire manufacturer in the United States, Goodyear has come alone way. You can read all about the history of Goodyear if you’re still hungry for morsels of random trivia (like the year Goodyear produced its one billionth tire!).
So which of y’all are riding on Goodyear tires?
