Car Maintenance Checklist: 3 Simple Items

Have you ever stopped to think what your vehicle really wants? Probably not. But that’s ok because we do. What your car really wants is be cared for. Fall is a time of change, after all, for most of us. It’s a time to clean out the summer fun and prepare for wintery magic. An end-of-summer car maintenance checklist, if you will. Plus it’s just a good way to remember to take care of your car. Here are 5 ways to do just that.

1. Clean your car.
Inside and out. Wipe down the dash. Vacuum out everything (if you remember, , a lot of us with children have quite a bit to vacuum, thank you.) If you’re really on top of your game, shampoo the carpeting! If you’re really not into cleaning your car but would like it done, head on over to your dealership. They’ll know the best ways to clean car upholstery or how to get coffee out of carpet (you know who you are).

2. Get an oil change.
Simple and easy. Head over to your dealership who will not only change your oil (and use genuine products, which we always recommend as the best) but they’ll also give you a complimentary inspection of just about everything, including your tires!

3. Check your air pressure.
Speaking of tires (we’d love to!), don’t forget to check your tire pressure. It’s easy to do and will help your tires perform at their most efficient.

Bonus Tip
If you live in a region that experiences wintery temperatures and snow, you’ll want to winterize your vehicle. Make sure you have that snowbrush. Change out your summer tires to your winter ones. For those of you who experience extreme winter, check your emergency kits and ensure everything is up-to-date and that it all works (e.g., flares).
