Jaguar Land Rover Just Bought 543 What? Find Out Here.

Sparkling green countryside, dramatic grey skies, and Bond—James Bond. This is what comes to mind when I think of Jaguar and I must admit this vision of mine is heavily influenced by the most recent Bond movie, Skyfall, in which Bond at one point zips around in a gorgeous Jaguar XJ (with Bond looking quite gorgeous himself). Alas, the point of this post is not my infatuation with James Bond and his beautiful cars, but rather something very exciting that recently took place involving Jaguar.

Just this last month Jaguar Land Rover bought an immense collection of 543 beautiful, classic British cars from British car enthusiast James Hull. Before being sold to Jaguar Land Rover, it is believed that Hull’s collection was the largest private collection of British cars in the world. Hull’s collection features numerous rare Jaguar models, as well as countless others, such as the XJS and the XJ. What’s more, many of the cars in the collection had famous owners before coming into Hull’s possession.

According to Jaguar Land Rover, this recently acquired collection will play a large part in their brand and experiential marketing strategy, which has a strong focus on Jaguar’s heritage. The cars from the collection will also play an important role for Jaguar Heritage, a branch of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations division that has been focusing on releasing vehicles that are inspired by Jaguar icons.

Sounds pretty sweet to me! I know I would love to breeze around in a smart looking British sports car. What about you?
